Groton — Kairi Grant had a goal and an assist in the Stonington High School field hockey team’s 2-0 victory Thursday night over Fitch in the Eastern Connecticut Conference.
Grant’s goal assisted by Hana Lyon gave the Bears (6-3-2, 5-1-1) a 1-0 lead at halftime and Bailey Eck scored a second-half goal from Grant.
Emma Plew earned the shutout for Stonington.
Esme Carlebach had 19 saves for Fitch (1-9-1, 0-6-1).
In other games:
• Lauren Gault and Mia Lloyd each scored twice in East Lyme’s 8-0 victory over NFA in the ECC. Nitya Bulusu added a goal and an assist and Peyton Swanson, Brynn Currier and Sophia Gibson also scored for East Lyme (10-2, 7-1). NFA is 1-9-1, 0-7-1.
H.S. boys’ soccer
• Sam Edmed made 11 saves to earn the shutout for Old Lyme in a 1-0 victory over Cromwell in the Shoreline Conference. Thomas O’Connor scored for Old Lyme (7-5-1, 6-4-1).
• Waterford lost to Morgan 1-0 on Wednesday night. Jonathan Gutierrez scored, Dylan Gallardo assisted and Liam Totten made nine saves for Morgan. Ben Dubicki made 18 saves for Waterford (5-6-1).
H.S. girls’ soccer
• Taylor Lawrence scored for Lyman Memorial in a 3-1 loss to Windham Tech. Lyman is 5-7, Windham Tech 11-1-1.
• Avery Bouchey and Harper Hedrick scored for Montville in a 2-1 win over Griswold in ECC Division II. Kam Plante scored for Griswold (5-7-1, 4-4-1) assisted by Breanne Harraka. Montville is 7-3-2, 5-2-2.
• Adalyn Malarkey had a goal and an assist and Gracie Pekarovic-West had two assists as Killingly/Tourtellotte beat Amistad 8-0 on Wednesday. Nina Purcell, Madison Perry, Samantha Bourque, Kezlee Morrarty, Lianna Hutchinson, Ashley Boudreau and Hazel Clavette scored goals and Aislynn Hassett, Kate Crowley and Declyn Benjamin had assists for the Trailblazers (8-2-2).
H.S. swimming
• Ruby Thoms won the 200 freestyle (2:08.86) and the 500 freestyle (5:52.48) in East Lyme’s 100-66 victory over NFA in the ECC. Lena Coleman (200 individual medley), Peyton Maynard (50 freestyle), Sylvi Otter (diving), Elsie Jacobitz (100 butterfly) and Ella Pape (100 freestyle) also won individual events for East Lyme (5-1-1, 4-0-1). Lydia Gosslin (100 backstroke) and Riley Stankiewicz (100 breaststroke) won events for NFA.
H.S. volleyball
• Kayla Terni finished with 10 kills, 17 assists, two blocks and two aces in Montville’s 3-2 loss to Morgan. Shea Cullen had three kills and four blocks and Payton Jones four kills and three aces for Montville (8-9).
• Faith Dalton had 27 assists and Ledyard swept Putnam 25-14, 25-15, 25-21. Shiloe McKeon had seven aces and Alana Brewer, Lily Weirs and Olivea Shelton had eight kills each for Ledyard (16-1). Putnam is 4-13.
• Savannah Guernsey had 32 assists, including the 1,000th of her career, as NFA beat Waterford 3-2 in an ECC Division I match on Wednesday. Amirah Carter had 14 kills and three digs and Guernsey had 11 digs and four aces for the Wildcats (9-6, 3-4), who won 25-20, 25-19, 21-25, 16-25, 15-6. Danica Agsalud had 29 assists, Chloe Landry had 13 kills, Willow Higgins had seven kills and Alivia Baskett had six kills for Waterford (7-8, 2-6).
H.S. girls’ cross country
• Hazel DeLucia finished first in 19 minutes, 56 seconds in Lyman Memorial’s 26-29 victory over Bacon Academy in an ECC Division II matchup on Tuesday, giving Lyman an unbeaten record of 7-0 overall, 4-0 in the division. Bacon’s Lorelei Romasanta was second and teammate Kiersten Page third, Lyman’s Sylvie Hiltz fourth and Bacon’s Rae Lenda fifth. Lyman clinched the victory behind Nora Johnson, Elisabeth Person and Lucy Gardella, who finished sixth through eighth. Bacon is 5-1, 3-1.
H.S. boys’ cross country
• Boden Paul finished first in 17:24 and Bacon Academy topped Lyman Memorial 18-37 on Tuesday in ECC Division II. Michael Dickey, Ben Adams and Ian McClain were second through fourth for Bacon (6-0, 4-0). Tilden Reinkens was the top finisher for Lyman (0-7, 0-4), fifth in 18:31.
Women’s soccer
• Former East Lyme standout Meredith Healy scored twice as Springfield beat Coast Guard 2-1 in a NEWMAC game on Wednesday night. Mia Forty scored, Bianca McIntosh had an assist and Julia Little made five saves for Coast Guard (1-9-2, 0-4). Springfield is 3-6, 2-1.
• Connecticut College played to a 0-0 tie with Bridgewater State on Wednesday. Maia Kafer and Yael Bugaev combined for three saves for the Camels (4-5-1).
