Groton — Julien Silva crossed the finish line in a winning 5K time of 16 minutes, 38 seconds, to pace Fitch to two victories in a high school boys’ cross country meet at Haley Farm.
Kai Gordon took third (17:23) and Jayden Moscol sixth (17:58) for the Falcons (4-3, 2-2), who beat Ledyard, 26-29, in Eastern Connecticut Conference Division I action and Stonington, 15-50.
Greyson Stephenson placed second (17:17), Lucas Heide was fourth (17:27) and Raymond Grogan took fifth (17:47) for Ledyard (4-2, 1-2), which defeated Stonington, 15-50.
In other meets:
• Led by winner Boden Paul (17:09), Bacon Academy runners took the top four spots in a 16-39 win over Waterford in ECC Division II. Michael Dickey took second (17:15), Benjamin Adams third (17:39) and Ian McClain was fourth (17:53) for the Bobcats (5-0, 3-0). Bronson Leone (18:12) was fifth for the Lancers (1-3, 1-2).
• Logan Slosek finished first in 19:31 for Plainfield, followed by teammates Austin Brown (20:48), Zachary Jackson (21:15) and Lucas Alexander (21-17) in wins over New London, 16-41, and Wheeler, 16-42, in ECC Division III. New London beat Wheeler, 26-30. Elias Johnson was fifth (21:25) for Wheeler (1-5, 1-5) and Jose Caban was sixth (22:37) for New London (2-5, 1-3).
• Jackson Holmes placed second (18:29) and Zachary Thomas took third (18:37) to help lift Montville past St. Bernard, 24-34, in ECC Division III. Ian Mitchell was fifth (18:43) for the Wolves. Rad Tanksley finished first (18:03) and Connar Petro was fourth (18:39) for St. Bernard (5-1, 5-1). Tourtellotte, which didn’t field a scoring team, lost to Montville and St. Bernard by 15-50.
Girls
• Helena Coury finished first in 21:54 and Fiona Addison placed second in 22:59 in St. Bernard’s 21-32 win over Montville in Division III. The Saints are 4-1, 4-1. Tourtellotte also competed and didn’t field a full team, losing to both Montville and St. Bernard, 15-50. Melinda Silsmets and Evelyn Granskog took third (24:34) and fourth (24:49), respectively, for the Wolves.
• Lorelei Romasanta (20:22) led Bacon Academy with a first-place finish, followed by teammates Kiersten Pagie (21:26), Rae Lenda (22:08) and Lila Wilson (22:38) in a 17-43 win over Waterford in Division II. The Bobcats improved to 5-0, 3-0. Madalitso Vincent was fifth (22:40) for the Lancers (1-3, 1-2).
• Wheeler improved to 6-0 overall, 6-0 in Division II, by beating New London, 15-50, and Plainfield 15-50. Elyse Overmoyer (22:28), Ingrid Anderson (23:14) and Sophie Zichichi (23:23) took the top three spots for the Lions. Raegan Richards was fourth (24:10) for the Panthers (0-3, 0-3). There was no team score between Plainfield and New London (0-5, 0-3).
