North Stonington — Lily Vallaincourt made an impact on both offense and defense as Wheeler downed Lyman Memorial, 5-1, in an Eastern Connecticut Conference Division III girls’ soccer game on Monday.
Vallaincourt chipped in a goal and an assist while Hannah Viele handed out two assists.
Londyn Moss scored two goals for the Lions (4-3, 3-1) while Sloane Deary added a goal and an assist and Hadley Jones also scored.
The Bulldogs fell to 3-3, 2-2.
In other games:
• Harper Hedrick scored two goals and Carla Nagle added one in Montville’s 3-0 win over Fitch in Division II action. Nagle, Alexa Tufares and Abby Daniewicz each added an assist for the Wolves (4-2, 3-2) while goalie Sienna Gressly made three saves. Lianna Gagne had 17 saves for the Falcons (2-6, 1-4).
• Bacon Academy remained undefeated with a 2-0 shutout of East Lyme in Division I. Alyssa Blanchette and Mia Hageman each had a goal and an assist for the Bobcats (6-0, 5-0). The Vikings fell to 1-4-2, 1-3-1.
• Ledyard and Griswold battled to a 0-0 tie in a Division II game. The Colonels are 3-3-2, 1-3-1, and the Wolverines 2-4-1, 1-3-1.
• Sophia Terraciano’s first varsity goal helped Waterford beat Stonington, 2-0, in Division I. Shae Tiven scored in the second half off an assist from Sadie Tiven for the Lancers (2-2-4, 2-2-2). The Bears fell to 2-2-3, 2-2-1.
• Ri’Niyah Couillard scored twice, including her first varsity goal, in Killingly/Tourtellotte’s 4-0 win over New London in Division III. Sam Bourque and Rowan Frazier also scored for Killingly (4-2-1, 3-1) while Kezlee Morrarty, Olivia Cabral and Gracie Pekarovic-West each added assists. The Whalers slipped to 0-6, 0-3.
• Gianna Martinez scored two goals and Albrinny Flete added two assists in Grasso Tech’s 2-0 shutout of Ellis Tech in the Connecticut Technical Conference. Goalie Haylee Shefer made 21 saves for the Eagles (3-5).
Volleyball
• Maya LeQuire contributed 15 kills and five aces in Old Lyme’s 3-1 loss to Valley Regional in the Shoreline Conference. Game scores were 25-9, 25-16, 15-25 and 25-11. Kaylyn Vernon had 10 digs and seven assists for the Wildcats, who are 4-5 in the league and overall.
• Katie Virtue finished with 12 kills and 12 digs as Fitch outlasted Ledyard, 3-2, to improved to 2-7 overall. May Serraro had 32 assists for the Falcons and Leilani McCoy added nine blocks and Rose Casas had 10 digs. Faith Dalton had 27 assists, Shiloe McKeon had 18 digs, Lily Weirs had 10 kills and Nora Gambardella had eight kills for the Colonels (8-1).
• Junior setter Kayla Terni had 24 assists, five kills and three aces in Montville’s sweep of Wheeler. Game scores were 25-17, 25-8 and 25-23. Senior Zoe Molnar had eight kills, three aces and two digs for the Wolves (5-4) and senior Lizzie Maffeo had six kills, five aces and two dis. The Lions fell to 5-5.
• East Lyme improved to 8-1 by beating Windham, 25-7, 25-15 and 25-11. Savannah Marusov contributed three aces and Lexi Pazzaglia added five assists for the Vikings.
• Maddie Meyer had 11 kills and nine digs to help Bacon Academy defeat Putnam, 25-12, 25-13 and 25-18. Bridget Walsh finished with 10 digs, five kills and six aces for the Bobcats (4-6) and Allie Field added 20 digs. Elieana Ionkin led Putnam (1-7) with eight digs, three kills and three aces and Iyanah Ruiz added four blocks, three digs and two kills.
• Savannah Guernsey had 26 assists as NFA swept New London 25-8, 25-8, 25-23. Amirah Carter had six kills and four aces and Guernsey had three aces and three digs for NFA (5-4). Adrianna Vitorino had eight service points, seven assists, six digs and an ace for New London. Myrna Pratts had 10 digs, four service points and two kills for the Whalers (6-4) and Aylse Manley added 10 digs.
• Rebecca Marsh chipped in 18 kills, 10 digs and two aces to help rally Griswold past Lyman Memorial in five games, 18-25, 25-22, 18-25, 25-23 and 15-11. Bella Bruno had 43 assists, 10 digs and three aces for the Wolverines (5-3) while Madz Walters had seven kills and two blocks and Carly Rubino added 19 digs. Isabella Shuckerow had eight kills and 22 digs and Casey Gigliotti had nine kills and three blocks for Lyman (5-3).
• Jada Murihead had 12 service points and eight kills in Grasso Tech’s 3-2 win over Ellis Tech in the Connecticut Technical Conference. Game scores were 25-22, 23-25, 25-22, 22-25 and 15-5. Alyssa Lombardi had 17 service points and nine kills for the Eagles (3-5).
Boys’ soccer
• Ian Maeby scored Old Lyme’s goal in a 3-1 loss to Valley Regional in the Shoreline Conference. Colman Curtiss-Reardon added an assist for the Wildcats (3-4, 2-3).
Girls’ cross country
• Chase Gilbert and Maia Guisti finished first and second, respectively, to pace Old Lyme to victory in the Shoreline Small Schools Division meet. Katie Ackerman (eighth), Beatrix Rubino (11th) and Jayden Livesey (12th) rounded out the scorers for the Wildcats, who had 34 team points.
Boys’ cross country
• Old Lyme posted a winning score of 54 points to edge out runner-up Old Saybrook (56) in the Shoreline Small Schools Division meet. Ryan Ortoleva led the Wildcats with a fifth place finish while Max Paonessa took ninth, Caden Camarra 11th, Carson St. Louis 14th, Miles Coppola 15th and Woody Goss 16th.
Swimming
• Ella Pape won the 50 freestyle (29.0) and 100 freestyle (1:04.47) in East Lyme’s 116-62 win over Waterford in an ECC meet. Ruby Thomas took first in the 200 freestyle (2:29.40) for the Vikings (3-0-1, 2-0-1) while Julia Morcos won the 200 IM (2:49.39) and 100 breaststroke (1:25.41), and Elizabeth Goeschel captured the 400 freestyle (5:23.84).
Grace McDonald placed first in the 100 butterfly (1:09.73) and 100 backstroke (1:14.68) for the Lancers (2-3, 2-1).

• The Great Neck Country Club Men’s Invitational is Sunday, Oct. 19. Awards for individual gross and net, players must have a valid Handicap Index to be eligible for net prizes.
